TARA NA, BIYAHE TAYO!

I ended 2011 with a random trip to Batangas all by myself. It was my first time to travel that far, alone. To top it off, I left Manila at around 8pm. Talk about, courage and PRAYERS. I had fun, I felt free even if I stayed at my friend’s house for one night only. For a brief moment, I was away from the noise of Manila. I’m in a place where only a few knows me. Freedom and serenity, indeed, as I just slept most of the time during my stay there. Good thing, my friend/kambal, Kay, allowed me to while she was busy with their Town Fiesta.

Immediately after returning to Manila, I realized how fun and simple it is to stay in the province. Then I had an idea that this 2012, I’ll be visiting my friends who have a place in whatever provinces here in Pinas.

My next stop, DAGUPAN! I never realized that my little friend with a big heart, Shaira, has been bugging us since College to visit their place. Now, I’m decided. I will definitely go there.

Thanks to 2012’s first long weekend, Hooray! Dagupan here we gowwwzz!!

I initiated this trip, which is very unusual since I barely have time to travel. Anyway, what my kambal and I wanted was to JUST RELAX, eat and sleep. However, I have a super energetic friend, Chay, who wanted to explore North Luzon in 2 ½ days. I was hesitant at first, I know I couldn’t keep up with her energy. But I went with the flow, told them what I wanted and let Shaira fix the itenerary.

Jan 21, 6:30 pm, Alex fetched me and we went to Trinoma to meet up with the rest; Shaira, Kay, Chay and Popoy. We left Manila on time; I believe so, at 7pm.

Surprisingly, everyone was up from Manila to Pangasinan. First stop, Shell in Tarlac, we couldn’t hold our pees anymore and we’re a little lost as well.

Then back to Kuya Poy’s car. I fell asleep, finally. Coz it’s way past my bedtime already.

Around 11:00pm, touchdown Dagupan.

First, we went to Shaira’s friend’s Birthday Party. ;)

Next, Jerico introduced “Kaleskesan” pronounced with Kuh-lus-kusan, (with the short U, ok?)

Then, went to the hotel that Shai’s dad reserved for us. By that time, we haven’t finalized our Second day in the North.

Jan 22, early morning, we woke up and decided to “drop by” Baguio first for sight-seeing, Pasalubongs and “Mag palamig” and to meet Abi as well before going to Shai’s friend’s beach house in Dagupan.

We started playing the Wow! Philippines theme song “Tara Na, Biyahe Tayo” while we were still in La Union. Can’t believe it, the last time I was here I was with my family and now, wow! I’m with my crazy friends. We all agreed that as soon as we enter Kennon Road, we’ll be quiet so Kuya Poy can concentrate.

At around 1pm, Hello Baguio!

Stopped at the famous Lion’s head and ate Strawberry Taho. Yes, we were amazed and decided to try this Flavored Taho BUT we expected too much.

Then, met with Abi and Nikki at Little John’s in Mile-Hi, John Hay.

Strolled at Mile-Hi for a while..

Then decided to go to Mines View to buy our pasalubongs. But we dropped by The Mansion first..

And at Wright Park..

Then Mines View and Good Shepherd for Pasalubongs..

Then ate at Brod Pit at around 3pm..

After this super late lunch, we went back to Dagupan but took a different route, unintentionally, so we drop by Our Lady of Manaoag Church.

By 7pm, dinner was waiting for us at Caloy’s in Dagupan.

Then to Koke’s beach house.

Then everything was history. :p

Jan. 23, Chinese New Year. Before going back to Manila we went to a River Cruise.

Then took the Pasalubongs from Shai’s parents; Tikoy, Dagupan Fish Sauce, Bangus.

Then back to Manila at around 5pm.

It was a very fun and awesome weekend!

Thanks to these people. :)

Til our next Trip, Labs. :)
